Dayton Chamber names Women’s Care Center as August Member of the Month
Dayton Chamber of Commerce Member of the Month for August 2015 is Women’s Care Center. The Center is a not for profit Pregnancy Resource Center providing physical, spiritual and emotional support to those finding themselves in a crisis situation or crisis pregnancy. The WCC has been a member of the DCOC since 1998 and in Dayton since 1985.
When asked what has surprised you the most about your business, Lenita Sanders, Executive Director stated “even though the Center has been around for a long time, I am surprised when people tell me they have never heard of it or they have heard, but have never visited”.
The best thing is “being able to help our clients on a daily basis and to share the compassion of Christ to all that enter our doors”. Lenita stated that like most not for profits the hardest thing is “having to raise funds for operating the center every year”.
Lenita would like for everyone to know that “we are not your average Pregnancy Resource Center, we offer pregnancy testing, ultra sounds, parenting classes, earn while you learn store, baby & me tobacco free classes, clothing for mothers and children, clothing for women going into the work force, education in schools for North Hamilton, Rhea, Bledsoe & Sequatchie Counties, parenting workshops and more at no cost to the clients or schools”.
Lenita’s final comment “I am very grateful for the amount of support the community has given to us. We live in a very generous and giving community”.
