William Travis Beck

April 5, 1927 – June 16, 2016

William T. Beck, 89, of Dayton, died Thursday, June 16, 2016.

William was a longtime resident of Rhea County and a member of White Oak Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ruth Beck; and parents, William and Beulah Lucille Trotter Beck.

Survivors include his five children, Terry (Myrna) Beck, of Washington state, Jerry (Candy) Beck, of New Mexico, Gary (Kim) Beck, of Chattanooga, Tenn., Mary (Jerry) Barger, of Dayton, and Barry (Miranda) Beck, of Shreveport, La.; one sister, Mildred Jean Guessm, of Arkansas; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 20, 2016, in the chapel of Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Ewing and Rev. Jim Purser officiating. Burial will be at Rhea Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. on Monday, June 20, 2016.
