William Aaron Wooden

William Aaron “Botch” Wooden, age 81, died Tuesday, January 8, 2019. Botch, as he was lovingly known by friends on the mountain, worked at Dayton Products in the Maintenance Department for thirty-three years while farming all the time. He was a member of Community Freewill Baptist Church, enjoyed deer hunting, Ginseng hunting, watching football, and played softball until he was not able.
Preceding him in death was his wife of forty-nine years, Billie Wilson Wooden; parents, Johnny Gambleand Mary Edna Anderson Wooden; brothers, Junior, Jake, and Jason Wooden; sister, Evelyn Cates.
Survivors include his sons, Ricky (Vera) Wooden, Robby (Delilah) Wooden; daughter, Regina (Lloyd Blish) Tate; brother, Bucky (Peggy) Wooden; sisters, Gail Jarvis, Patsy Kelly, Martha (Bobby) Trotter; grandchildren, Christopher and Logan Wooden, Melanie and Monika Wooden, Aaron (Angie) Tate, Adam (Carrie) Tate; five great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
A celebration of life will be 2:00 pm CST Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Community Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Jimmy Jewell officiating. Burial will be in Rigsby Cemetery. The family will receive friends 4:00-8:00 pm CST Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at the funeral home.
