Girls and Boys Basketball and Cheer Receive Recognition

Spring City, TN — The Spring City Middle School basketball teams and cheerleaders had their last regular season home game and took time to celebrate the middle school times of their eighth graders. 19 students were presented flowers and fans took time to show appreciation for these students who had played last regular season game for middle school

The ceremony occurred between girls’ and boys’ games vs Meigs County. Meigs County came away with the wins in both games. Lady Bulldogs lost 31 to 24 and Bulldogs lost 38-31.

After the Christmas break the basketball teams will hit the road for six more games, with first game on January 7th at Rhea Middle School with boys’ junior varsity game at 5 pm, followed by girls and boys varsity games.

Scoring for Bulldogs: Caleb O’Dell 12, Cooper Brackett 7, Latron Alloway 4, Trent Edwards 3, Austin Hill 5. Meigs County Tigers led by Arnwine with 13 points.

Scoring for Lady Eagles: Sadie Burton 10, Kylie Garrison 7, Brenna Wright 6 and Karma Swafford 1. Leading scoring for Meigs were Tally Lawson and Kaylee Tholin with 9 points each.
