Ronald Eugene Scoggins, age 74, of Dayton, passed away early Friday morning, April 5, 2019 at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga. He was born on May 20, 1944 in Chattanooga, the son of the late Charles Andrew Scoggins and Rachael Pearl (Grizzle) Scoggins. He was also preceded in death by his wife Ruth, and his four brothers, Charles “Sam” Scoggins, James Thomas Scoggins, Virgil Bentley Scoggins and Sanford Lee Scoggins.
Ron lived all of his life in the Chattanooga area and was a graduate of Birchwood High School. He retired from Harrison Bay State Park after 42 years of service. Ron was a longtime member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Birchwood.
He is survived by his sister, Alta (Steve) Hall of Dayton.
Graveside services for Ron will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:00pm in the Scoggins Family Cemetery in Harrison with Rev. Jerry Neeley officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his brothers.
