
Boys win 8-1 and girls rally for 5-4 win

Dayton, TN — Rhea Middle Tennis won both matches against visiting Cleveland on Tuesday with two very different matches. The boys team lost the # 1 singles match by Will Travis but went on to win all 8 remaining matches. Winning singles in order of positions were Cole Ruehling, Zac Swafford, James Smith, Tyler Bentley and Brett Hurst. In double action the winners were Travis/Swafford, Ruehling/Smith and Bentley/Garrett Hurst.
In girl’s action it was much different but a win in the end. #1 through # 3 lost the opening matches with Ava Travis, Ansley Thedford and Sopie Kay losing. Last 3 in the order came through for the Lady Eagles with Karlee Rogers, hanna Logsdon and Sydney Hampton winning to pull the girls even 3-3 going to doubles. After Travis and Thedford dropped the first match it was win or go home time.Brock/Tullier won to setup the final and match deciding match. Clark and Pierce came through with hard fought overtime win 9-7.
With the wins, the girl’s record goes to 7-0 and boy’s record goes to 6-1. Rhea Middle will be on the road at Cleveland on Thursday.
