The Rhea County Middle School golf team which is comprised of Dayton City, Rhea Middle, and Spring City Middle, opened its golf season on Thursday, March 6 at Dayton Golf & Country Club. Rhea hosted Riceville Elementary.

Riceville girls bested Rhea with a score of 105 to Rhea’s 122 through 9 holes. The best 2 girls’ scores are recorded. Rhea was led by Russell Green with 45, Jackson Lytle with 47, C.J. Smith – 51, Will Boles – 52 for a total of 195.

Rhea hosted Meigs Middle and Sale Creek Middle. Rhea had 3 boys and 1 girl missing due to 8th grade/freshman orientation at RCHS, which meant younger players got an opportunity to step up and play.

On the girl’s side, Sale Creek shot a team 111, followed by Rhea’s 118 and Meigs 120. Rhea was led by Lesley Green with a 58.  Rhea is scheduled to travel to Cleveland Golf and Country Club this Thursday to take on Riceville and host Cleveland Middle.
