Lady Eagle Basketball teams go 6-0 in Mufreesboro

Mufreesboro, Tn — The Rhea Middle Basketball Lady Eagles went 6-0 in Mufreesboro at the Siegel Camp on Monday and Tuesday.  Playing camp games against some very good competition, The Lady Eagles won on Monday 38-10 over Oakland middle, and 41-21 over Whitworth Middle.

On Tuesday the beat the always potent Blackman team 37-17 and the West middle team 36-24.  The Junior varsity team won 33-15 over Christiana Middle JV on Monday and 26-7 over Oakland Middle JV on Tuesday.

Coach Matt Hampton continues to work the same offense and defense as his predecessor and the team is in the process of replacing two departed 8th graders.  Coach Hampton was pleased with the play during the camp.  The team played a lot of the bench players as coach Hampton looks to develop the depth necessary to run a high speed offense and press.

The Lady Eagles  on June 8th and 9th the Lady Eagles will travel to Sevierville for games and then head back home to host a Play Day on June 18th, where there should be 5 teams participating in the play day.

Coach Hampton said, “We played well up at Siegel.  We played some very good teams but we executed well and went deep into the bench.”

“I expect the level of competition to be very good up in Sevierville too, so will have to continue to play well together.”
