Rhea Middle Baseball beats Athens Middle 5-2

Dayton, TN — Rhea  Middle Baseball hosted Athens Middle School on Monday on a three game winning streak and they moved that number to 4.  Cameron Travis pitched 6 strong innings for Rhea Middle Baseball, giving up only 1 earned run. Reece Cooley had three big RBi, Hunter Hale had three hits, and Matt Levi and Baylor Dulaney contributed 2 hits each for the winners.

Dulaney started the scoring when the tripled to center field to drive in Matt Levi in the first inning.  Cooley got the first of his 3 RBI in the third with a sacrifice fly to score Luke Travis and Cooley again drove in Luke in the 5th inning.  In the 6th inning, Cooley singled in Velasco for his third RBI.

Cameron Travis gave up 5 hits, 2 runs, 1 earned run, 3 walks and struck out 5 in his 6 innings.  Hunter Hale pitched one inning of hitless relief, while striking out 1.

The next scheduled game for Rhea Middle School is at Baylor Middle School on Thursday at 4:30 pm.
