Rhea County Soccer record goes to 9-5 with 9-0 win over Bradley Central: Christian Newport sets goals scored record. Host Red Bank for Senior Night 5-2-17

Evensville, TN — Rhea County High School Men’s Soccer team set new season win mark with 9-0 win over Bradley Central on Friday. The Nine wins sets a new mark that Coach Justin Smith hopes becomes the old record as Eagles still have games left on schedule with Red Bank coming to Bill Horton field on Tuesday, May 2nd for Senior Night. Game time will be 6 pm and Senior Night festivities after the game.
Against Bradley, six different Eagles scored and goal keep Ethan Jones kept the Bears out of the goal for the shutout. Christian Newport lead the way with three goals on the night and he pushed his season total to 16, also a new Eagles scoring record in a season. Coach Smith is hoping that record is eclipsed before the season ends.
Against Bradley the Eagles scored early and continued to score throughout the game. Newport got the Eagles on board with his first of three goals. Xander Holloway assisted Brandon Sanjuan for goal number two of game and goals continued: Zion Goins assisted Chandler Goins, Michael Kech assisted Newport, Micah Hall assisted Newport, Xander Holloway scored goal two, Zion Goins assisted George Santiago, Phil Hall asssited Micah Hall. Ethan Jones had the shutout in the net for the Eagles. Junior Varsity also won 6-1 against Bradley.
Eagles finished third in district and will host White County on Saturday at Bill Horton field at 7 pm.
