Lady Golfers edge Cumberland 107-108

August 4, 2014

Crossville, TN — Rhea County Golf traveled up to Lake Tansi Golf Course on Monday for a match with the Cumberland County High School Jets.  The teams had played last week at the Dayton Golf and Country Club with a win by the Girls and a loss by the Boys.  On Monday the results were the same as the Girls evened their record to 2-2 and the Boys fell to 0-4.

For the Girls, it was # 2 player Kiley Green who carded the low score with a 52 and C.J. Sneed stepped up with a 55 for the second lowest score for the Lady Eagles.  The 107 by the Lady Eagles gave them a slim 107-108 win. Burgess and Whittenburg each shot 54 to lead Cumberland. The Boys team shot poorly and lost 347 to 335. Spencer Robinson came in with an 83 to lead the Eagles while the leaders for Cumberland County, Graham and Shelton came in with 81 each.

Big win for the girls. It was a really tight match all the way through. C.J. Sneed had her score count for the first time this year. Kiley did a good job for us today she fought through a tough stretch to finish strong.
