Rhea County Superintendent Jerry Levengood and the Rhea County School Board honored 36 Rhea County teachers Thursday at an Exemplary Teacher Banquet.

The teachers were being rewarded for the outstanding student growth shown from the 2017-18 TN Ready state tests.

The Exemplary Teachers did a phenomenal job instructing their students and pushing them to achieve growth at an outstanding rate.

“It shows their passion they have for students. To get a score like that, they’re teaching everyday.  They are very serious about their job and the commitment they have towards our school and our students,” insists Rhea County Director of Schools, Jerry Levengood.

With the highest number of exemplary teachers to date, Levengood says our county is blessed to have them.

“It’s a great honor and great achievement,” he adds.  “I’m certainly glad to have them in the Rhea County School System.”
