Dulaney, Cox best field at 3rd Annual Rhea Alliance Scholarship Tourney

Dayton, Tn —  Rhea Alliance awarded scholarships to the winners in the third annual Rhea Alliance Fishing Tournament held on Saturday and Sunday. The Rhea Alliance was formed in 2013 by Spring City Chamber’s Jim Reed and Dayton Chamber’s Vaughn Berger.   Winners were selected in Junior High and High School divisions.  A total of $8,250 was awarded to the five winners, with $5,000 coming from Bryan College.  Vaughn Berger presented the check to the winners on behalf of Bryan.  Also on hand for prize distribution was Dennis Tumlin of the Rhea County Economic and Tourism council.

Jim Reed co-founder of Alliance said, “Thanks to all those who came today to support our efforts.”

“The Rhea County Alliance is a cooperative effort by all three Rhea County municipalities, along with county government and Chamber of Commerce from Spring City and Dayton.  The Rhea County Economic & Tourism council is also involved.”

“We put politics aside and work together to help promote our a community in a way we see fit.”

“We care for our young people and want to promote an opportunity for higher education.”
