Senior Green Continues to Receive Acolades

Evensville, TN — Rhea County High School Runner Lesley Green received a huge honor as she was selected as first team Best of Preps by the Chattanooga Times Free Press newspaper for Cross Country. In a ceremony between basketball games on Friday night she was presented with the plaque.

Lesley has been coached by long time Rhea County Track and Cross Country coach Stefan Holder. Also coaching for Rhea County are Amy Baird and Susan Holder. Lesley began running as a sophomore and is a three time state qualifier. In 2017, she finished 11th in the TSSAA Large School State Meet and was named to the All-Sate team.

This past season, Lesley finished 6th at the State to become the first girl in Rhea County High School History to earn back to back All-State selections.

Late last(November24th) year at Footlocker South Regional in Charlotte, North Carolina. Lesley ran against competitors from 15 southern states as well as Puerto Rico. In the final five kilometer race of her high school career, Lesley ran a person record of eighteen minute and nineteen seconds. Her finish placed her as scoring member of the third plac e Tennessee team and Lesley was named to Footlokcer All-South team.

Lesley is also outstanding the the classroom with 4.0 GPA and she will be attending University of Tennessee at Chattanooga on scholarship next year. Lesley is the daughter of John and Kayla Green of Dayton.
