Nokian Tyres “Summer Nights” Scopes Festival fills up July

Friday July 5th, 2019 the Rhea County Courthouse once again will be the setting for music for the people as Nokian Tyres Summer Nights gets underway.

Gospel Night will get things started with ‘Appointed Quartette’ taking the stage at 6:00pm and Heart Friends following at 7:30.

Classic Rock Night brings us ‘Sons of Blake’ on July 12th at 6:oopm, so bring your dancing shoes.

July 19th at 6:00pm, we have the ‘9th Street Stompers’ starting off the Scopes Festival weekend. They will entertain you with Jazz, Blues and Swing straight from the era of the Scopes Trial. This also starts the performances of the Scopes Play at 7:30pm.

Saturday July 20th, The Festival will be in full swing with a Cruise In, Antique Quilt show, more performances of the play at 1:00pm and 5:00pm, and the Bluegrass Competition starting at 11:00am and running through the day. Craft and Food vendors will be there as well.

Another performance of the play will be July 21st at 2:30pm.

July 26th at 6:00pm ‘Georgette Boozer and Earnie Robinson’ will take the stage for Country Night. Following them at 7:00pm is ‘Rhea Springs Revival’ to close out the Nokian Tyres Summer Nights Music festival.

The play enjoys another weekend of performance on July 27th at 1:00pm and 5:00pm. Then wrapping things up at 2:30pm on July 28 th.

All of the July festivities are designed to be family friendly. So come out to the Rhea County Courthouse and enjoy some great music and fun.
