Chattanooga, Tenn. – Chattanooga Neighborhood Enterprise (CNE) and Northside Neighborhood House (NNH) are partnering to host Mini-Money School, a one-day financial education event for area teenagers and adults on November 18 from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Red Bank High School.
This event will bring together community members to hear from financial experts and learn the ins and outs of personal financing topics. This event will provide free financial education classes centered on helping both teenagers and adults gain financial knowledge and confidence for the future.
Through classes taught throughout the morning, attendants will be educated on subjects including credit scores, homeownership, retirement, estate planning, budgeting, savings, and financial aid.
“Our goal is to provide useful information that helps those attending gain further financial knowledge and confidence,” says Martina Guilfoil, CNE’s president and CEO. “We are excited to partner with Northside Neighborhood House to bring this important information to Red Bank and beyond.”
In 2015, NNH partnered with the Hamilton County Department of Education to pilot the first Community School in Hamilton County at Red Bank High School. The Hub at Red Bank High School launched this year, and Mini-Money School is just one of the many programs that NNH has brought to the high school.
“Listening to what our students and parents need has been integral to our work leading the first Community School in Hamilton County at Red Bank High School,” says Rachel Gammon, CEO of NNH. “Students and families are interested in how to be financially stable, and we are excited to partner with CNE who has expertise in this area.”
Admission is free and includes a light breakfast, coffee, and lunch. Red Bank High School is located at 640 Morrison Springs Road in Red Bank, Tenn. Please register for the event at www.moneyschoolcha.org. For more information, call (423) 756-6234 or visit www.moneyschoolcha.org.
