Marilyn J. Dye, 83, died Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at the Spring City Care Center.
Born in Stewart, Mississippi, Marilyn was the daughter of the late Roy J. and Martha E. Jacks Hardy. She was a banker and involved in the banking industry in Rhea County for 30 years before retiring in 2006.
Marilyn and her husband, Robert, lived in Memphis, Tennessee and Vermilion, Ohio before moving to the Rhea County community in 1976. She was of the Baptist faith.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Robert Vernon Dye Sr.
Survivors include her sons Rick (Tammy) Dye of Dayton and Mike (Vickie) Dye of Memphis, daughters Roxanne (Steve Russell) Dye of Spring City and Jaime (David) Baker of Fairview, Tennessee, stepsons Bobby Dye of Memphis and Charlie Dye of Spring City, sisters Royce Oliver of Amherst, Ohio, Jaki Hines of Crossville, Tennessee and Linda (Jerry) Bryant of Knoxville, 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 25, 2016 at 12:00 pm in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Spring City Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday one hour before the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Memorial and Honor Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
