Local artists Roberts and Sims to take Walmart FLW Stage at Expo this Saturday

With the release of their hit single, “Battle on the Chick”, local artists Roberts & Sims have been invited to perform live in front of thousands of bass fishing enthusiasts.  The show will begin at 2 P.M. at Walmart FLW Stage in Dayton.  See “Battle on the Chick” video below.

At Wednesday’s Tournament meeting at Bryan College, FLW Tournament Director Bill Taylor played the above video in front of several hundred anglers, stating, “I don’t believe we (FLW) have ever been welcomed by a community in the way of a song like this.”

Earlier that day, co-writer and lead singer Wade Sims was introduced to Taylor by Dayton Mayor Gary Louallen.  The two quickly hit it off.  Taylor invited Sims and company to perform live at Walmart FLW Expo Stage before weigh-in Saturday at 2 P.M.

As for Sims, he says he’s ecstatic.  “We love it.  It’s a priceless opportunity to do this for our community.”

Sims will be joined on stage by “Battle of the Chick” co-writer, Greg Roberts, and lead-guitarist Jeremy Stanton.

“I’ve done some really incredible things in my life, but to have an opportunity to do something like this in my hometown is something special,” Sims says.

Written by Wade Sims, Greg Roberts, and Troy Hill, the “Battle on the Chick” song originated as an idea by RETC Director Dennis Tumlin who hoped to employ local talent to promote tourism through our greatest natural resource – Lake Chickamauga.  Tumlin took his idea to Sims and the rest as they say is history.
