Coach Shane Johnston gives credit to his team for finding a way to win this District 6-AAA contest.

The Lady Eagles came out swinging with a 15-3 lead to close the 1st quarter. With 7 points in the first, Amber Levi was just warming up as she would score 2 clutch 3’s to stifle a rally in the 2nd by the Lady Pioneers.

I am proud of our kids and how they battled through some adversity tonight, but I hope tonight is the wakeup call that we must bring our ‘A’ game every night.

Coach Shane Johnston credited the victory to the team’s experience of being in these situations before.  Coach Johnston adds, “I am proud of our kids and how they battled through some adversity tonight, but I hope tonight is the wakeup call that we must bring our ‘A’ game every night.”

“I have great respect for Coach Baird and his kids.  They overcome that early deficit and just kept fighting.  That’s a credit to him, his staff, and his kids.  Hats off to our kids for answering the challenge and just kept playing hard on a night that things were clearly out of sync.”

“I think the early lead just got in our heads.  We lost focus and energy and then everything became difficult.”

“We are happy to win.  Our focus is now on the next game.  We have to make improvements and continue getting better so we can play our very best basketball down this district stretch and into the post season.”
