La-Z-Boy’s Chief Operating Officer Kurt Darrow and La-Z-Boy Tennessee Vice President Don Mather praised team members for this outstanding achievement. The ceremony culminated with the Rhea County High School Marching Band playing “Celebration.”

The plant-wide celebration consisted of meals and safety awards for all employees and a recognition ceremony. In attendance were State Representative Ron Travis and Senator Ken Yager.

“This accomplishment is only possible because of the family of dedicated men and women that work together in building this great safety culture. We have a committed management team and an engaged workforce seeing that each one of us goes home each day in the same physical condition in which we arrived,” states Dennis Poland who oversees the company’s safety efforts in Dayton.

“Striving to be the best means not only correcting hazards, but truly caring about each other. We go above and beyond compliance requirements and focus on more stringent and safer work practices. La-Z-Boy’s family extends beyond the confines of these four walls; our team members are safety conscience citizens, leaders in the community, taking safety onto the roads and into their homes,” added Poland.
