Kentucky Wildcats save the best for last at Cabela’s Collegiate Bass Fishing Series on Lake Chickamauga

University of Kentucky Wildcats’ team of Hunter Fulcher and Ryan Collins raced to the scales after landing a 5-05 lb largemouth.  The team weighed in last with 19.47 lbs which topped current leader Adrian College who has 18.09.

“We caught our biggest or second biggest in the last hour,” said Collins.  “We have a pattern we are looking for and a pattern inside that pattern.”

Fulcher says the team is primarily relying on their instincts and fishing shallow.  Collins says, “We are fishing on the bank and sometimes up to 100 yards off the bank but never above five feet of water.”

Collins a four-year veteran of the team says both angler are familiar with Lake Chickamauga and the Tennessee River System.

Thick fog held anglers up for a slow start, 10:30 A.M., Saturday, but cleared up nicely after that.  The final day of fishing promises a lot of rain.

Fulcher and Collins says the weather will definitely play a factor.
