Congratulations to 10 Runners Who Braved the Elements

December 2018

Dayton, TN —  Only 10 runners braved the elements to run in the “Jingle Bell Run” on Saturday, starting at the United Way Office downtown.  Congrats go out to those runners who no only helped the United Way with their participation in the fund raiser, but took time to participate.  Regretfully the race that is famous for great holiday costumes was not as good as in the past.    Elijah Anderson # 10 was the first runner across the finish line at 26:10:10.

Members of First Bank were present giving out bananas, water and energy bars.

Rhea County United Way Director Christine Ralph said, “Thanks to all those who braved the elements and thanks to our sponsors.  As usual money goes to many different causes in the community.  And special thanks to our Dayton police officers and homeland security volunteers keeping our runners safe.
