Football season is upon us Rhea County, and, same as you all, I am more than ready to be back under those Friday night lights.

As a preview of sorts for the upcoming season, we’re focusing on individual players to give you a rare look under the winged helmets and Kelly green jerseys we see every game. I hope you all enjoy hearing from these guys as much as I did.

Chandler Kaylor
Number: 42
Position: Linebacker
Grade: Junior

This interview features Chandler Kaylor. In contrast to his teammates, Kaylor took a different approach when asked about personal goals.

“Take every game one at a time. I think if we simplify things like that, we can accomplish getting to the playoffs and then to state which is everyone’s goal as a whole.”

While he did have that to say, he also said he would like to average twelve tackles a game and beat Knoxville Catholic.

“I think if we can get a win at their stadium it will be pivotal for our team and let us know what we can achieve together.”

Kaylor also believes that he and his fellow Eagles are capable of going undefeated, as long as they continue preparing themselves mentally and physically for each game.

For the Eagle faithful, Kaylor had this to say, “I am excited for this season, as should all of Rhea County!”

Chandler is one of the many quality young men who comprise our beloved Eagle football team, and I personally cannot wait to see where their grit, determination, and teamwork take them this football season. GO EAGLES!!
