Dayton resident fulfills lifelong dream; Opens Dayton’s newest Veterinary Office/Hospital

Dayton resident Amanda Roddy has fulfilled her dreams and is now Dr. Amanda Roddy, Dayton’s newest veterinarian. Amanda is married to Josh Roddy and the couple have 3 children, Lyla, Audrey and Kate. She is the daughter of Felix and Debbie Ward.

From an early age, Amanda has always had the love and desire to be involved in everything animal related. Amanda says that she feels fortunate to have grown up on a farm surrounded by many animals and pets that she loved caring for their needs.

As she grew older, Amanda realized that she had to make a career decision. The choice was an easy one for her. She knew she had to become a veterinarian.

Amanda graduated with a B.S. in Animal Science and Biology from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tennessee. And went on to obtain a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Amanda Roddy, accompanied by her staff, will open her new office on Monday, October 10, 2016. Rhea Pet Medical Center is located at 2040 Hiawassee Highway in Dayton.

Rhea Pet Medical Center is a full service companion animal hospital. They will offer wellness and preventative medicine, hospitalization and treatment, diagnostics such as lab testing, x-ray and ultrasound, surgery dental care, grooming, boarding and more.

With a total of 5 employees, the office will be open five days a week and on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month. Their time schedule being:

Mon., Tues. 7 am-6 pm

Wed. 7 am -12 noon.

Thurs., Fri. 7 am-6 pm

1st and 3rd Saturday of the month 8am-12noon.

Amanda is excited to see her lifelong dream is becoming a reality. Amanda says that it is a blessing to be able to provide her services for the community that she was raised in.
