It’s very rewarding to see the bond between fathers and daughters grow stronger.

Dayton, TN — You could find several Dorothies, the tin-man, and even Glinda the good witch of the North at this year’s Wizard of Oz themed Daddy Daughter dance. The annual event is organized by the Dayton Rotary Club in an effort to strengthen the bond between fathers and their daughters. This was the 4th and most successful year for the Daddy Daughter Dance. There were over 610 tickets sold to daddy-daughter duos from Rhea County to the surrounding area. The event is quickly becoming a Rhea County tradition.
Dayton Rotarian Christine Ralph says, “It’s very rewarding to see the bond between fathers and daughters grow stronger.” A chief organizer of the event, Lisa Bonadio, spearheaded the effort to ensure attendees had a memorable experience. With contests like the Daddy Dance Off, it is no wonder the event gets bigger and better each year.
The bulk of the money raised will go directly towards 3-4 high school scholarships and a couple of Bryan scholarships. The Dayton Rotary Club also provides hygiene for the “Give the Kids a Chance” program among other great causes.
