City of Dayton installs Christmas Lights; Plans Power Outage

Downtown Dayton

City of Dayton Planned Power Outage and Time Change on tap for this weekend!

With Halloween behind us now and Fall moving through the area the City of Dayton has been busy this week installing the Christmas decorations throughout downtown Dayton.

The City of Dayton Electric Department also has announced that a planned power outage has been scheduled for this coming Sunday starting at 1:30 am.

The purpose for the outage is so the Tennessee Valley Authority can perform maintenance on their switches in the substation. This outage will affect all City of Dayton Electric Department customers while they work at their substation.

If you operate a factory or some other kind of business, please notify your IT department and make them aware of this planned outage.

Residents are encouraged to make sure they have working flashlights in their home. The outage is only scheduled for approx. 30 minutes.

Remember that after the power outage, you will be re-setting your clocks back one hour as “Daylight Savings Time” ends.

Be sure and watch the Main Street Dayton and Spring City Chamber of Commerce websites for scheduling of Holiday events as they become available.
