Chase Sholl finishes 2nd at Vanderbilt High School Invitational in 60 Meter Hurdles

Nashville, TN —  Chase Sholl continued his phenomenal running with a 2nd in the 60 Meter Hurdles at the Vanderbilt High School Invitational with a time of 8.16  Chase also finished 14th in the 200 meter run with time of 22:63.  After finishing fifth in the preliminary 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8:35, Chase amped it up to 8:16 in finals and lost to future University of Tennessee teammate Matthew Moore, who was the 2015 Class 5A Georgia state champion in the 110m hurdles.  Moore ran a 7.81 in the 60 meter hurdles. Chase was competing with the Rhea County Track Club, a USATF club team.

The Rhea County Track Club boys’ 4 x 400 team qualified for the indoor State.   Chase Sholl, Micah Hall, Joe Bennett, and  Billy Jack Smithwick ran in the 4 X 400.   The girls’ Distance Medley Relay is in the state also.  Members of the relay team were Hannah Matthew, Lena Miller, Kiley Green and Gia Smithwick.   Chase Sholl has qualified in the high jump, long jump, 200 meter and 60 meter hurdles.

Chase has also qualified for the USATF New Balance Indoor Nationals in NYC the weekend of March 11-13.  He will be participating in the indoor pentathlon and the 60 meter hurdles.
