CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Your Cracker Barrel restaurant experience may soon be changing – that’s if local beer boards approve of what the nationwide chain wants to do.
Earlier this summer, Cracker Barrel announced it wants to start putting beer and wine options on its menu.
Recently, the company has made a push to allow that in Tennessee, including in Chattanooga.
This week, the East Ridge Beer Board quickly approved Cracker Barrel’s request to sell beer at its outlet on North Mack Smith Road, according to our partners at East Ridge News Online reports the board heard from Tayo Atanda, a Nashville attorney representing the chain. She told the board that beer and sparkling wine is a “new offering” for Cracker Barrel customers. She also said the chain has already started selling alcohol at its restaurants in Florida.
Other local outlets are reporting a push by the chain to have a few other Cracker Barrel locations in Chattanooga by October, pending the city beer board’s approval.
