Registration is now open for the 48th Annual Strawberry Golf Tourney to be held at Dayton Golf & Country Club on May 5-6. This is the longest running tournament in Rhea County and for good reason.
“The tournament is a long time tradition of the Strawberry Festival,” says event chairman and avid golfer Paul Riggs. “Over the years we’ve had some of the best players in the Chattanooga area attend.”
“There are tremendous prizes and don’t worry it will be very fair with regards to handicapping,” Riggs adds.
A set of steel shaft Ping G irons will be awarded to winners in each class, graphite for seniors. Second place finishers will win a Ping Drivers and a Ping Putter will be awarded to third place finishers.
Attendees can expect many more prizes for the two-day event and can also expect a smooth well-run tourney. Flights will be dividing into two championship flights with two handicapped flights and two senior flights.
Shotgun start begins Saturday at 9am and 1pm, and Sunday at 1 PM.
The tournament will be limited to the first 80 entrants, so call 775-2313 or stop by to sign up. Registration is closed on Wednesday, May 3 at 4 PM.
