Spring City, TN — Over 3200 lbs of TWRA catfish were dumped into the mouth of Piney Creek to be reeled in by children 12 and under this weekend at the TWRA’s Annual Chuck Copeland Memorial Fishing Rodeo.

For nearly two decades the Tennessee Wildlife Resource agency has partnered with the Town of Spring City to bring kids an experience where they are sure to catch a fish.

We typically have around 600 plus kids each and every year,” says Mike Jolley of the TWRA.  “There are a lot of smiles and happy faces.”

“For a lot of these kids, it’s the first opportunity they’ve ever had to go fishing,” added Jolley.
