STATEMENT FROM SENATOR KEN YAGER AND REPRESENTATIVE RON TRAVIS REGARDING THE ANNOUNCEMENT THAT NOKIAN TYRES WILL LOCATE A MANUFACTURING FACILITY IN RHEA COUNTY
NASHVILLE — “It’s no surprise to me that Nokian Tyres is making a $360 million investment in Rhea County. What companies are realizing is that Tennessee is a great place to live and do business. The people have an incredible work ethic and our state is committed to developing the best trained workforce in the world. The state’s business friendly climate is a critical advantage, too. “
“This is a huge investment,” Yager continued. “These 400 jobs will be a tremendous boost to our local economy. I congratulate our local elected officials and economic development leaders, Governor Haslam and our Department of Economic and Community Development for their role in bringing this investment to Rhea County. It was a team effort. Thank you, Nokian Tyres for your confidence in the Rhea county worker.”
State Representative Ron Travis (R-Dayton) also celebrated the announcement saying, “This is tremendous news for Rhea County. This large investment will have a very positive spillover effect on our community. The Governor, legislature and our county officials have worked diligently to attract investment and break down barriers to job growth and it is producing results. It is also testament to the great people who make up our local workforce. I could not be more pleased and look forward to seeing how these new jobs will provide many citizens in our district with new and better opportunities for the future.
