According to the Tennessee Wildlife Federation, we’re losing about 30 percent of the existing outdoor enthusiasts every generation. TWF wants to change that trend through its Hunt Masters program.

Hunt Masters are volunteers who provide or assist in special organized hunting and fishing opportunities for young people in Tennessee. Last year Hunt Masters took more than 400 kids hunting, many for the first time ever. This RheaReview.com Outdoors story, “The Piebald Buck,” is just one that occurred during a Hunt Masters program.

Hunt Master volunteer opportunities include:
— Assisting with hunt logistics
— Cooking
— Firearm instruction
— Outdoor education
— Guiding
— Many more

Hunt Masters are certified volunteers who are trained to lead, plan, and coordinate youth hunts across the state. To become certified, however, volunteers must attend a TWF training course.

To become a Hunt Master, sign up for a training class listed below by clicking “Register Here” on the course selection below. Each training session is $95 and includes lodging, materials, and the three meals during the training. Training sessions begin at 6:00 p.m. with a working dinner and conclude by 4:00 p.m. the following day.
