Each year one Tennessee elk permit is donated to a "non-governmental organization" which sells the permit to the highest bidder. The proceeds are used to benefit Tennessee's elk management program. (Photo: Contributed)

And the winner is… Nicholas Nelson from Fayetteville, NC.

Nelson bought the Tennessee Conservation Elk Tag Sunday night on eBay by submitting the highest bid of $11,101. A former Tennessee resident, Nicholas had been following the elk tag auction for a few years and decided that this was his year.

The proceeds from the sale of this special elk tag will go to benefit the elk restoration program in Tennessee. Learn more here.
