The first stop on the Tennessee B.A.S.S. Nation Team Tournament Trail will be on Lake Chickamauga on June 9, 2018. The East Tennessee Regional qualifying tournament will be hosted by Three Rivers Bass Association at Dayton Boat Dock. This is a buddy style, team tournament that is open to all rostered members of Tennessee B.A.S.S. Nation Clubs OR Tennessee High School (16 and older) and Tennessee College Fishing Team members that are affiliated with B.A.S.S. Nation.
The East Tennessee Regional Team trail Tournament has a $2000 first place guarantee. $50 Entry fee per boat and a $10 per participant Team trail Fee can be paid morning of tournament at ramp.
The purpose of the B.A.S.S. Nation Team Trail is to keep fishing teams together as they progress through the ranks.
Citing a B.A.S.S. article on the Bassmaster Team Championship, organizer Kirk Gardner said, “Many of today’s top professional anglers cut their competitive teeth in team tournaments. But to compete at a higher level, they had to leave their fishing buddies behind and strike out on one of the many draw or pro-am circuits. However the team trail format allows teams to stay together.”
The East Tennessee Qualifying Tournament is the first step on the road to the State Team Championship to be held on Douglas Lake in September. Fish the East Tennessee qualifier June 9 in Dayton and anglers are eligible for the Tennessee B.A.S.S. Nation State Team Championship. The winner will advance to the Regionals and possibly win their way to the B.A.S.S. Nation National Championship in December on Harris Chain of Lakes in Leesburg, Florida.
Gardner said, “Our great sponsors; Vertical Lures, Hiwassee Angler, Big Bear Fishing Rods, Ultra Sport Thirst Quencher, Volunteer Rid-A-Pest, K&K Bobcat Service and Lurches lures stepped up in a big way and provided cash, prizes, and other incentives to make this a great tournament opportunity.”
