April 2018

Spring City, TN —  Spring City Middle School Eighth Grade Students had an opportunity to learn some interesting facts about fish, bugs and the river and stream ecosystem on a trip to Piney Creek in Spring City on Friday, April 13th.  Several eighth grade classes had an opportunity to enjoy the beautiful day and learn from several Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency Fishery, Reservoirs and Streams personnel and State Park Rangers.

Students learned about casting and putting hooks and lures on lines.  They also learned about the different types of fish found in streams and also type of bugs found in the streams.  The even got a chance see these fish and bugs up close.  It was a very informational day down at Piney Creek for Spring City Students.  The event was organized by TWRA biologist Mike Jolley and Spring City Middle School.
