Eagles and Lady Eagles Win: Play District on 5-6-19

Dayton, TN —  Last night (5-2), the Rhea Middle golf team hosted Chilhowee Middle for the regular season finale at Dayton Golf & Country Club.  The girls were victorious, 108-113, led by Lilly Chattin’s low-round medalist effort of 52 (a personal best) through 9 holes.  Lillee Hunt posted a 56.  McKenna Cameron’s also shot a personal best of 58, even though her score did not count in the final tally as only the 2 best scores are taken. The girls finish the season with a 6-5 overall record and finished 5-5 in district play.

The boys also walked away with another district victory by posting a season-low score of 181.  Chilhowee Middle shot a team score of 223.  Rhea was led by medalist Matthew Rothwell (38).  Luke Price and Reagan Hinds both shot a 47 which was a personal best for Hinds.  Blake Wheat posted a 49 to round out the team score.  Nolan Purser also posted a 49, which didn’t count in the final tally as only the 4 best scores are taken.  The boys finish with a record of 11-2 overall and a district record of 10-1.

Rhea Middle will travel to Chatata Valley on Monday to take part in the District Tournament.
