Rhea Middle Boys win against Meigs and Cleveland

Dayton, TN —  Rhea Middle golf opened its season with two victories on the boys’ side.  On Monday, March 5, Rhea Middle traveled to White Oak Golf Course to take on Meigs County.  The boys won by 4 strokes and were led by Matthew Rothwell with a low-round of 45.  On Thursday, March 15, Rhea hosted Cleveland Middle and posted a 209-217 victory.  Rothwell again garnered low-round medalist honors with a 45 through 9 holes.  Owen McCosh, Nolan Purser, and Reagan Hinds rounded out the scoring by posting 51, 53, and 60, respectively.

The girls team lost by one stroke to Meigs County and were led by Kadie Jenkins.  Rhea Middle was bested by Cleveland Middle by a score of 99-118.  Becca Rogers led the locals with a score of 58.

Rhea Middle will travel to Chatata Valley to take on Ocoee Middle on Tuesday, March 20.
