Volunteer Energy Cooperative donates $1500 to Rhea County Coordinating Committee
Since 1989, the Rhea County Veterans’ Committee has provided veterans with transportation to VA hospitals in Murfreesboro and Nashville. The committee, started by Don Mathis, is currently comprised of 15 volunteers who work diligently to help our veterans. Mathis currently serves on the TN State Veterans’ Homes Board representing the Eastern region.
The money is put to good use in assisting veterans in Rhea County. We are dependent upon contributions from our community.
Ernie Garrison – RCCC Transportation Manager
Rhea County Coordinating Committee Transportation Manager, Ernie Garrison, is very thankful for the $1500 donation from Volunteer Energy Cooperative.
“We appreciate any donations we get,” says Garrison. “The money is put to good use in assisting veterans in Rhea County. We are dependent upon contributions from our community.”
Contributions from Volunteer Energy Cooperative, Middle TN Natural Gas, Rhea United Way, and others make it possible for the group to continue their work. The group currently provides transportation for over 25 veterans a month to VA hospitals in Nashville and Murfreesboro.
