Rhea County Softball goes 4-0 at Tournament

 Lady Eagles win over Silverdale, Bledsoe, Central & Bradley

Athens, TN —  The Rhea County Lady Eagles won all four tournament games in the high school softball tournament held at Athens Regional Park in Athens over the weekend.

The Lady Eagles opened up the tournament with dramatic 5-4 win over Silverdale as Hallie DeArman hit a solo home run in bottom of the fifth for the win McKinley Mathis picked up the win on the mound.

The second game was a 11-3 win over Bledsoe High School.  On Saturday morning the Lady Eagles began with 7-0 win over Central and finished the tournament with 7-1 win over Bradley Central.

Against Bledsoe, the Lady Eagles had 12 hits and five walks to account for the 11 runs in the 11-3 win.  Madalyn Ray picked up the win on the mound with Gracie Smith providing one inning of relief.

Against Central the Lady Eagles began with a four run first and coasted to 7-0 win behind Gracie Smith on the Mound.

Keeley Hickman led off the Bradley Game with home run and that was all the runs they had until a six run 4th inning sealed the deal in 7-1 win.  Lady Eagles had 10 hits in the game.  McKinley Mathis picked up win on mound with relief in 4th by Gracie Smith.
