Rhea County Boys Basketball splits games at Sparta and Harriman Tournaments

Harriman, TN —  The Rhea County Eagles boys basketball team split their six basketball games in two tournaments over the holiday break.  After dropping two of three games in the Sonic Shootout in Sparta, Tennessee, the Eagles won two of three games at the Jim Cordell Holiday Classic in Harriman, Tennessee.

At White County High School in Sparta, the Eagles lost to Clay County 62-76, came back with win over Clarkrange 65-60 and then dropped their last game 45-64 to Tullahoma.

In the Jim Cordell Holiday Tournament in Harriman, the Eagles won two of three games with wins over Heritage 51-36 and Harriman 69-55 sandwiched around a 56-51 loss to Kingston.

Rhea County will be looking for revenge as they host Kingston on Friday with 7:00 pm start.

Against Harriman it was Jordan Wilkerson leading the way with 26 points and Sophomore Drake Taylor chipped in 14 points with a couple of 4th quarter three point makes.  Ricky Guthrie  and Kannon Oggs scored 9 and 7 points respectively.  Other scoring: Reynolds 5, Laws 4, Stewart 4,  & Green 2.

In the Kingston game, Ricky Guthrie lead all scorers with 17 points.  Also scoring: Kaleb Laws 12, Russell Green 9, Jordan Wilkerson 6, Drake Taylor 5, & Hunter Hill 2.
