Eagles and Lady Eagles Begin Season 1-1
Dayton, TN — The Rhea County High School Bowling Team began the year with 1-1 record for both the girls and boys. The Eagles began the year with a 17-10 loss to Soddy Daisy and followed that loss with a 14-13 win over Walker Valley. Lady Eagles began with a 22-5 win over Soddy Daisy and then lost 20-7 to Walker Valley.
Phillip Rogers is third in league with 189 average, Tanner Gaither is eighth with 170.83 average and C.T. Nance is tenth with 170.66 average.
For the girls, Baylee Shipley leads the league with 201.83 average and Becca Rogers is fourth with 173.66 average. Emily Jackson has a 143.16 average to stand at tenth place in the league.
Against Walker Valley the Boys and Walker Valley each picked up four points in first game. Eagles picked up seven points in second game to only one for Walker to take an 11-5 lead. Walker Valley picked up five points for game three and an additional three bonus points for series to just finish short at 14-13. Eagles actually won 12 of the 18 head to head match-ups. Phillip Rogers finished with 587 point total and 182.3 average for the Eagles. Jacob Brown for Walker Valley finished with 595 series and 198.3 average.
Baylee Shipley was leading bowler in the girls’ match-up with 633 series and 211 average. Becca Rogers bowled a 551 series with 183.67 average. Maddie Davis with 591 series and Natily Haro with 564 series lead the Lady Mustangs. For the game the Lady Eagles won only six of eighteen game match-ups. Lady Eagles were down 11-5 after two games and dropped two of six match-ups in final game and Walker Valley picked up series bonus and pin fall bonus to push final margin to 20-7.
Eagles are 1-0 in district and lady eagles are 0-1 in district play.
