Eagles win 76-52, Lady Eagles win 64-21

Evensville, TN —  Rhea County High School basketball teams opened home season with wins vs Hixson on Monday night.  The Lady Eagles used a 31-5 first quarter to continue on to 64-21 win.  Micah Black had a 15 point first quarter and finished with 17 points for the game.  Mallory Hampton scored 13 to assist Micah in scoring.  Rhea County hit 7 three point baskets and went 9 of 13 from the line on the night.  Lady Eagles emptied bench early and often in this game.

Eagles had the advantage in every quarter on the way to a 24 points win, 76-52.  Jordan Wilkerson led the way with 20 points and Ricky Guthrie added 17 points to lead the Eagles.  Eagles had 4 players in double figures as Kaleb Laws and Gavin Stewart each added 10 points for the Eagles.  9 Eagles dented the scoring column.

Lady Eagles 68 Grace 48

Lady Eagles won 68-48 against Knoxville Grace in the Hall of Fame game played in Crossville on Saturday.  Micah Black and Haley Cameron were the leading scorers with 22 and 16 points respectively.  Mallory Hampton added 9 points and was very active on the boards and in the passing lanes on defense.  Lady Eagles took 16-11 first quarter lead and built on the lead until the 4th quarter when Grace had a 14-6 advantage.  Lady Eagles were able to substitute liberally and 9 players made the score book.

Cumberland County over Eagles 63-55

In the second game of Hall of Fame Tournament for Eagles in Hall of Fame Tournament held at Cumberland County, the Jets took 25-16 first quarter lead and Eagles Jets pushed lead to 44-31 at the half.  Eagles came back to win both 3rd and 4th quarter, but not by enough to get the win in the 63-55 loss.   Gavin Stewart and Kaleb Laws both worked well down load and led the Eagles with 13 and 11 points respectively.  Jordan Wilkerson joined Stewart and Laws in double figures with 10 points.
