Lady Eagles run record to 17-6 with win

Ooltewah, TN —  The Rhea County Basketball teams were on the road at East Hamilton on Monday night.  The Lady Eagles began the night with a 44-37 win over East Hamilton.  The Eagles slumped late in absorbing a 62-43 loss to the Hurricanes.

The Lady Eagles took the lead early at 3-2 and slowly hung on to  lead at 13-11 at the quarters end.  In the second quarter, it was Levi time with Levi canning 4 threes and all 14 of the Lady Eagle points as Rhea County ran its advantage up to 21-11 midway through quarter and had a 27 to 18 lead at the half.

In the third quarter the Lady Eagles let the Lady Hurricanes back into the game with a few turnovers.  East Hamilton won the quarter 10-5 and cut the lead to 32-30 at one point.  Rhea County righted the ship and sailed on to the win 44-37. The Lady Eagles record goes to 17-6.

Scoring:  Levi 28, Wallis 7, Freeman 3, Revis 2, Keen 2, Morgan 2.

Eagles drop game to Hurricanes

The Eagles began the game with great energy and confidence. Logan Hunter had a trio of three point shots and scored 13 points total as the Eagles won the quarter 22 to 10. The Hurricanes began to whittle down the lead in the second quarter as the Eagles could not find the range and with a 18-9 second quarter the Hurricanes only trailed 31-28 at the half.

The second half was not pretty. The Eagles could not score and the Hurricane continues to get easy points on fast breaks and after a 21-6 third quarter the Hurricanes lead the game at 49-37. The Eagles could not find a run and at the end it was a 62-43 loss for the Eagles. The Eagles record falls to 8-8 on the season.
