RCHS Bowling Goes 5-1 For Week

Both Teams win against McMinn to Finish Week

Dayton, TN — This week’s Rhea County High School Bowling action began on Monday night the Eagles face the Eagles of Signal Mountain where Philip Rogers led the way the High game of 234 and a series of 663.  The boys defeated Signal Mountain 20 to 7.

On Tuesday the Eagles traveled to Cleveland to face Bradley Central’s undefeated boys team. The boys came up short by a score 15 to 12. Where Tanner Gaither led the way with a high game of 202 and high series of 554.

The girls team defeated Bradley Central’s girls by the same score of 15 to 12. Baylee Shirley led the girls team with a 205 game and a 572 series. Becca Rogers also added a game of 201 and a 501 series.

And Thursday night the traveled to McMinn County and came out with a pair of victories. The boys team defeated the Cherokees 21 to 6. Philip Rogers bowling a high game of 263 and a 658 series.  C.T. Nance added a nice game of 232.  The girls team saw Baylee Shipley takes the night off and watched as her team defeated the Lady Cherokees by a score of 18.5-8.5.

The boys team is now 3-2 in district play currently in 2nd place in the district. Overall record of 6-3.  The girls are now 4-1 in district in 2nd place, and 6-1 overall.

Next match for boys and girls will be Monday at home vs. East Hamilton at 3:45 p.m.
