In what was the final game of the regular season for Cane Ridge and Rhea County, the hosting Ravens took the contest by a final score of 35-14, bringing their record to 9-1, and dropping the Eagles to 5-5.

The game was well fought from both teams, but the speed of the Raven offense proved too much on a rain-soaked night.

The first quarter saw neither team accomplish much offensively, but that changed in the second as the Ravens overcame a slow start to take a comfortable lead into the locker room that they would not relinquish for the remainder of the game.

Despite it not being reflected in the final score, the Eagles had a nice performance running the ball with star senior wingback Christian Simon, senior fullback Brandon Hunt, and, in one of his most impressive rushing games of the season, junior quarterback Zack Pemberton leading the way.

Eagles’ head coach Mark Pemberton tweeted Sunday, “It’s Playoff Time!! Throw the regular season record out the window.  It’s a one game season each week.”

Eagles enter the first round of the playoffs this week as a #2 seed with a rematch with Knoxville West, a #3 seed, in Evensville slated for a 7:00 kick this Friday night.
