Bill was a longtime resident of Rhea County. He was a retired farmer and of Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wheeler and Agnes Sneed Smith; one brother, John Smith; two sisters, Gee Hood and Reba Walker and son-in-law Clint Black.
He is survived by three daughters, Billie (Jason) Worthington, Evensville, Tn., Phyllis (Rick) Shelton, Harrison, Tn., Marilyn Black, Athens, Tn.; three sisters, Kay Newberry, Graysville, Tn., Helen Ballard, Evensville, Tn., Barbara Howard, Chattanooga, Tn.; five brothers, Tom Smith, Ray Smith, Mike Smith and Bob Smith, Dayton, Tn., Jerry Smith, Wolf Creek, Tn.; seven grandchildren, Ryan McVay, Miranda McVay Calbaugh, Cameron Worthington, Jeffrey and Justin Morgan, Jordan Kelly and Cailyn Black; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 24, 2017 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Funeral Services was held on Sunday, September 24,2017 at 4:00 PM in the Chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home in Dayton Tn.
