Ribbon Cutting followed by steady crowds
Dayton, TN –– Cookies and Cream ice cream and cookie restaurant had it’s official ribbon cutting and grand opening on Friday, April 13th and there was no bad luck. After the cutting the crowds were good on Friday and Saturday. Whether the customers were drawn in by the discount specials, the advertising or just hunger, it was a good weekend. Owner Peggy Riggs had a staff of six workers handling the crowd at the opening and still kept two or more workers for most of the weekend. Cookies and Cream is located on the north end of Richland Shopping Center.
Owner Peggy Riggs wanted to open a store that offered a little different in the very popular ice cream market. She chose to go with Bluebell ice cream. Peggy is a teacher at Rhea County High School and opened the shop to be worked initially in her off hours, which makes for a busy day for Peggy. She has a few cookie recipes that were given by friends and students. Many customers like to combine the cookies with ice cream to make ice cram sandwiches. Many customers did opt for the ice cram sandwich option. The shop also offers soft drinks and different ice cream accessories like syrup and sprinkles.
Some of the custom cookies are the Cinnamon Roll Cookies, Spicy Mexican Hot Chololate Cookies and the Brownie cookies.
