Golden Eagles Hoping to Crash Walker Valley Homecoming Party

rchs-2013-eagleRhea County Golden Eagles have beaten the Walker Valley Mustangs six out of the eight games played in the series. Walker Valley must have had some serious scheduling conflicts in order to schedule Rhea County for their homecoming game. Despite Rhea County’s dismal last two seasons which yielded only 3 wins (one of those wins being against Walker Valley), a program steeped in tradition such as Rhea County could feel a lack of respect.

Make no bones about it. Walker Valley has a good team this year and the game should make for a great match-up. The Mustangs are coming off a loss to East Hamilton Warriors (Ooltewah), 56-35. While Rhea County raised some eyebrows in their new Class AAA Dist 6, beating White County, 33-6. This will be a non-league game, but still an important game for Rhea County. This will be the 9th year in a row the two team have met.

12thmanThe Rhea County Golden Eagles have multiple threats in the backfield such as #3 Joby Berry, #5 Jacob York, #6 Demetrius Patterson, and freshman #21 Cody Bice. Senior QB #9 Austin Dotson executes Coach Pemberton’s proven ‘Wing-T’ offense. The Golden Eagle offensive line must continue to control the line of scrimmage for a Golden Eagle win.

The game will begin at 7pm, Walker Valley High School, Cleveland, TN. I’m hoping to see a lot of green and gold at the game tonight, so I encourage you to take the short drive to Cleveland and bring the “12th Man” with you. (Google map below)
