Amy Lewis is Freshman  All-Southern Conference  Selection as outfielder for University of Tennessee Chattanooga

Chattanooga, TN — Former Rhea County High School and present UTC softball player Amy Lewis was recently selected to the Freshman All-conference team.  In 43 games played for the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga softball team, Amy played 28 games in left field for the Lady Mocs.  She hits .262 with 4 RBI and 14 runs scored.  She had six multi-hit games with five coming in last 15 games of the season.

Amy also excelled in the classroom, making Dean’s List for Fall 2016 and Spring 2017.  She was on Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for fall 2016 and Spring 2017.

In her last year at Rhea County, Amy batted .481 with 51 hits, 33 runs scored, 12 doubles, 14 stolen bases and 28 RBI.

At her signing with UTC in November 2015, Coach Leah Price said, “I am proud for her.  This has been a goal for her.”

“She will be far enough away to get the College experience and still be close to home.”

“It is extra special to have someone like her.  She works hard, has played all year round to get better.”
