First Baptist Dayton Upward registering Kindergarten thru Sixth Grade
Dayton, TN — First Baptist Church in downtown Dayton will begin registering youth for the 2019 Upward Youth Basketball season. Upward will be registering both basketball players and cheerleaders for the upcoming season. Registration cost for the season is $60.00 per child for basketball and/or cheerleading. Deadline for registration is November 3, 2018. Registration is open to kindergarten(age 5) through sixth grade. Evaluation will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2018(5:30 pm until 7:30 pm) and Saturday, November 3, 2018(9 am until 12:00 pm). All players and cheerleaders must attend an evaluation session. Evaluations as well as practices will be held at First Baptist Dayton Gymnasium.
After final evaluations, which include some skill evaluations as well as sizing, there will be team selection by Upward Basketball that uses evaluation scores to attempt to make teams as competitive as possible across the divisions. First practice will be Thursday, November 29, 2018. First games will be on Saturday, January 5, 2019. Awards celebration will be held February 23, 2019. Team season will consist of eight games and game times are one hour except for kindergarten, which is a one hour time that includes practice time on Saturday and play time(normally one half hour).
You may drop off and pick up registration forms at the Church office at 231 3rd Avenue at the Church office which is through the quad doors at the gymnasium entrance. Church office is open between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm on Monday through Friday.

Normally there are opportunities for cheer and basketball coaches, concessions, assistant coaches, halftime presentation personnel and other volunteer positions.
Upward is a youth recreation league that emphasizes fundamentals, fun and christian character. Normal practice is one day per week. Games are one hour in length and all children share playing time. Dayton First Baptist has over 15 years of experience with Upward Basketball.
